First sketch...

in a Moleskin watercolor sketchbook. Needs a lot more contrast among other things.

Suicide Girl

Another one. I took forever to post it even though I finished it the same day as the other one. Just lazy I guess. Teaching myself to paint and working on some more pages, and test illustrations for a job, and reshoots and editing. So maybe I'm just a little lazy.
This kind of looks like a girl I used to know. But not the tattoo. Whatever.

PS sketch

This guy had a bad day at the lake when all he wanted was to go fishing. There are so many ways to approach paintings in the computer, a person can spend way too much time hitting ctrl alt Z.

Green Arrow, Elektra, Daredevil

I did these pages spur of the moment one night(it took me way more than one night but you get the point). It had no rhyme nor reason just things happening and characters showing up because I felt like drawing them. At the end of drawing these I drew another sample which is way better. Weird how it all works out. I will probably ink these soon but the other one gets priority. I wish my pencils looked as good as my inking. Whatever.

Stuff

Here is a picture I made from a photo for a thread on Drawingboard.

Sword of Doom Sketches

Had this movie on the recorder and wanted to draw a few things before erasing it. This movie had a lot of stuff going on, and I almost couldn't keep track of all the characters the first time I watched it. I probably should watch it again because I'm starting to confuse it with some other stuff I recorded off of IFC these past few months.

I also wanted to draw these because Adrian's sketches for his comic made me excited for samurai stuff.

Don't call it "furry"

Here's a piece done in PS. Having worked in a comic book store, I've seen some furry comics that I just can't get into. I may have subconsciously drawn a cat-like creature because of my friends' cats--Wendy, Bean, Oliver--or maybe because of a story that I've been putting off finishing. This was all done in the computer, so once again, the sketchbook and other supplies sitting on my desk go untouched. The colors work for me, but I'd like to do more with the actual character. He should be leaping or coughing up a fur ball to make it more interesting.

Death Proof

Loved that movie. Hot chicks, fast cars, and crazy shit. Not bored by it at all, unlike some people. Wanted to drive fast and ram into things and talk to hot girls(what else is new).

Grindhouse Mess

Here are my attempts to do some Grindhouse drawings for a thread that Adrian posted on. There will probably be at least a dozen more thumbnails to get the elements to work with each other more. I also have to do more research in terms of photo reference. Does anyone know if the Grindhouse book is any good?
I'd rather not worry about likeness too much, but I may do some character studies just to practice drawing Hollywood types.
It's really too bad that this movie didn't do better at the box office. They're both really entertaining even if you don't know anything about the grindhouse genre.
